Privacy notice
Who is responsible for your data
The controller is Boschetti Studio Legale S.R.L. Società tra Avvocati, Via dei Gracchi 151, 00192 Rome, Italy, VAT and tax code 17095831008, registered with the Rome Bar Association.
For any question about this notice, or to exercise the rights set out below, write to info@studiolegaleboschetti.com.
What we collect
If you complete the enquiry form, we collect the information you enter: your name, your email address, your telephone number if you choose to give it, which member of your family was born in Italy, whether you took any official step before 27 March 2025, whether your line passes through a woman who married a British man before 1 January 1948, and anything you write in the free text field.
We also record which of the two consent boxes you ticked, and the moment you submitted the form.
Separately, if you make a choice on the cookie bar, we record that choice together with the version of this notice and the time, so that we can demonstrate what you were asked and what you agreed to. That record contains no name and no email address.
Information about your family origin. Telling us which of your relatives was born in Italy may reveal information about your national or ethnic origin, which UK data protection law treats as a special category of personal data. We ask for it only because the assessment of a citizenship claim cannot be made without it, we process it on the basis of the explicit consent you give by ticking the first box, and we do not use it for any other purpose. If you would rather not provide it in a form, write to us by email instead.
Why we process it, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Reading your enquiry, assessing whether your claim is arguable under Italian law, and replying to you | Your consent, and steps taken at your request before entering into a contract |
| Information about the firm's services, if you ticked the second box | Your consent, which you may withdraw at any time |
| Measuring how this page is found and whether an advertisement led to your visit | Your consent, given on the cookie bar |
| Keeping a record of the consent you gave | Our legal obligation to be able to demonstrate consent |
| Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims, where that becomes necessary | Our legitimate interests |
Who else sees it
Your enquiry is read by the lawyers and staff of the firm. Beyond them, your data passes through service providers who act on our instructions:
- Cloudflare, which serves this page and receives the form submission before passing it on
- Google, through Google Workspace, where your enquiry is stored and the notification reaches us, and through Google Analytics and Google Ads, if you consented to measurement
We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertising networks other than as described above, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
Transfers outside the United Kingdom
The firm is established in Italy, so your data is processed in the European Economic Area, which the United Kingdom recognises as providing adequate protection. Some of the providers named above also process data in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the safeguards those providers put in place, including the UK Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You may ask us for a copy.
How long we keep it
If you do not become a client, we keep your enquiry for twelve months from your last contact with us, and then delete it. If you become a client, your data is kept for the period required by the rules governing the legal profession and by Italian law.
The record of your cookie choice is kept for the period needed to demonstrate that consent, and in any event no longer than the choice remains valid.
Your rights
You may ask us to give you a copy of the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, or to send it to another controller in a portable form. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect what we did before.
To withdraw consent to receiving information about our services, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or simply write to us.
If you believe we have handled your data wrongly, we would rather you told us first, but you are entitled to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
Is the form compulsory
No. You are free not to write to us. But the fields marked as required are the minimum we need to tell you whether your case is arguable: without them we cannot give you a useful answer, and we would rather say so than reply with generalities.
Cookies and similar technologies
What happens before you choose
When you arrive on this page, nothing is stored on your device beyond what is strictly necessary to make the page work. No measurement cookie and no advertising cookie is set until you press a button on the cookie bar. If you ignore the bar, nothing is set.
This page uses no consent management platform of a third party and no software development kit that writes an identifier on your device. It is a static page: what you see is all there is.
What we store, and when
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
blf-consent-uklocal storage, not a cookie |
This page | Remembers the choice you made on the cookie bar, so that you are not asked again at every visit. Strictly necessary. | Until you clear your browser storage |
_ga, _ga_… |
Google Analytics | Counts visits and tells us how the page was found. Set only if you accept measurement. | Up to 2 years |
_gcl_au |
Google Ads | Records whether an advertisement led to your visit and to your enquiry. Set only if you accept advertising. | 90 days |
Google consent mode
Before you choose, this page instructs Google's services that consent for measurement, advertising, personalisation and functionality is denied, and that advertising identifiers are to be redacted. Those instructions change only when you accept, and only for the categories you accept.
One consequence, which we mention for the sake of accuracy: because of this, our own advertising reports show fewer enquiries than we actually receive. We prefer that to setting anything on your device before you have said yes.
Changing your mind
To change or withdraw your cookie choice, clear this site's data in your browser settings and reload the page: the bar will appear again. In Chrome and in Safari this is done from the padlock icon next to the address.
You may also block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time, without affecting your ability to send us an enquiry.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and change the version date at the top. Where the change is significant and affects consent you have already given, we will ask you again.
